I am now working through the Eighth Air Force Target Summary report and adjusting some of the records (usually the exact factory, or sometimes the target type – sometimes it was the city centre rather than the marshalling yard that was attacked, for example). This will be a three month activity, hopefully done by November. Currently I’ve done up to Hanover, so please excuse errors in later locations that I have yet to get to.
In parallel, I have another 100,000 pages of AFHRA reels to work my way through (yippee!), and am still working through some of the United States Strategic Bombing Survey reports. There are the missions of the 482nd and 801/492nd Bomb Groups to complete, and some additional bomber loss data to incorporate.
I then might be able to start on some of the analytical work … as a manufacturing engineer with a reliability leadership career, I finally want to get those reliability questions answered in a data-driven fashion.
